Rolling heavy from the off: Novacento 23 Appassimento from the Veneto region in the North of Italy. This is essentially a Baby Valpolicella Amarone, a wine based on de-hydrated fruit, dialling up the concentration and power. Haut Dambert 'Cuvee Clemence' is essentially pir house Bordeaux, we just adore it, Cabernet Sauvignon backed by Merlot, Franc and a muscley twist of Petit Verdot. Moving to Rioja, Aradon Calzadas Crianza 2017 is made from Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, with a gorgeous grain of warm American oak shimmiering through the wine, this is uber-comforting.
